They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.
Acts 2:42
All through the New Testament there is an emphasis on the deep community which defined life in the church. The phrase “one another” appears over 50 times in the New Testament as we’re commanded to “be devoted to one another in love. Honour one another above yourselves” (Romans 12:10), and “serve one another humbly in love” (Galatians 5:13).
At St. Luke’s we want this deep community to be experienced in every part of our church life, but we know that’s not always easy in a large group. Life Groups exist to give everyone the chance to be a part of a smaller group where deep community is developed, where the “one another” commands of the New Testament are experienced deeply and where Christian believers can grow together in maturity as they devote themselves to God’s word, to fellowship, to sharing life together and praying together.
We encourage every member of St. Luke’s to be part of a Life Group in addition to gathering with us each Sunday. Speak to one of the team on a Sunday to find out more.
